Okay. I know that I'm not the only person here who's sick of wanting to sign up on a name and finding that the said name is not only taken by someone, but dead! If you feel this way please leave a comment here stating that you sign this petition! Once this petition reaches over 1,000 signatures I'm going to present it to the deviantART administration. Please see below for the details of what this petition should do.

This petition should hereby make the staff notice that we're fed up with these silly people taking perfectly good names and abadoning them without even bothering to post anything on their account. This petition will also suggest to the deviantART staff that there should be a cut-off date on how long someone has to post something initially before their account is deactivated and taken from the system so another person can use the account. To make things simplier this means that this petition will be asking people to post some type of journal or piece of work when they first make an account in an alloted amount of time and should they fail to their account with be deleted. This petition is not only to have that option available but to have the person notified by mail that they have only a certain amount of time/days to post something before their account with be deactivated.

If you believe that this petition should be presented to the staff of deviantart please reply to this journal and add this name to your watch list. The more people this name has on the watchlist and the more signatures we have for this petition the more likely the staff will pay attention and consider the request.

I ask that you keep it clean and nice when you reply. This means no flaming of any sort will be tolerated. If you have any questions feel free to send a note to me on this account. Please, let the signing begin!

We the undersigned petition you (the staff of deviantART Inc) on behalf of the community. We ask that you consider the deactivation of "abandoned" or "dead" accounts. These said accounts take of much of the space and bandwidth on deviantART Inc and are a pain when a person wants to create an honest account. We the undersigned petition you (the staff of deviantART Inc) to also notify the said "abandoned" or "dead" accounts by e-mail before deactivating them. We the undersigned ask that you make it so a new account has a certain alloted amount of time to post a journal entry or artwork before you send the said deactivation notice to their e-mail. We the undersigned hope that you will seriously and thoughtfully consider our petition for the better of the community as a whole.
